Registration Closed

Let’s do Taiko drumming with Master Ringtaro of “The School of TAIKO”.  Taiko is not only music, but also dance and Martial Arts.  It’s unique to try authentic Taiko.

Our Taiko drumming program is designed to teach your child not only music skills but also important life skills.  Our classes focus on respect, self discipline and perseverance.

We will cover the basics of Taiko drumming, along with learning an original song each session, followed by a performance in front of parents at the last class.

Kids enjoy Taiko drumming and parents love their performance.

During Taiko drumming sessions kids also learn simple Japanese vocabulary.

We will learn a song for each session and have a performance in front of parents in the last class of the session.

Japan Creative Arts was founded by Japanese Taiko Drummer Ringtaro Tateishi and his partner Asako in 2009 to develop a community and strong relationship beyond the border with sharing & expanding the Japanese Culture based in Seattle, WA.

The School of TAIKO have produced by JCA as main program which is both an educational source for the art of Taiko drumming and as a performance group based.   Also, CHIKIRI is holding their leading Taiko group formed by skilled performers mainly the founders & apprentices.

JCA offers the unique opportunity to experience quality musical programs created by Ringtaro., the Artistic Director of the both groups.   Ringtaro Tateishi has 10 years of experience performing in 26 countries with the world-renowned Taiko troupe ONDEKOZA including four times concerts at Carnegie Hall.   After leaving ONDEKOZA, he performed daily at Walt Disney World / EPCOT for 7 years before coming to Seattle.

Through JCA programs there are approximately 300 students from ages 4 to 70’s involved in SOT real experience, based programs each year.   Also, over 50,000 audiences yearly enjoy our performances.
SOT Students have various additional chances to join in performances, be instructors, be selected to performers of our leading group “CHIKIRI” and work with projects of JCA.

Japan Creative Arts / The School of TAIKO produce the grants awarded “Bellevue World TAIKO Festival” with talented special guest performers to deepen mutual understanding and strengthen ties of the communities from 2014.
