Body, Heart, and Mind Academy
The Body+Heart+Mind Academy is anchored in the holistic enrichment of children through movement and performing arts curriculum. Children will:
Engage their bodies to grow coordination, strength, agility, flexibility and endurance through challenging obstacle courses, choreography, yoga, creative movement, and conditioning.
Engage their minds to solve challenging problems, analyze, and learn the pedagogy behind their enrichment subject.
Engage their hearts by expanding empathy, learning coping mechanisms by finding success on the other side of failure, and by having conversations that foster a greater multicultural understanding.
MATTHEW LANG, FOUNDER: A native to the Seattle area, Matthew began early with movement competing in gymnastics for 10 years and then moved on to study Musical Theatre at Point Park University’s Conservatory. He has now been an educator teaching movement and performance in the Puget Sound Region for 15 years. Matthew is active in the community operating through the lens of race and social justice equity with the goal of centering the needs of marginalized and vulnerable communities.
